Every Capi Europe product comes with a 3-year or 10-year guarantee covering manufacturing defects. Pots produced in the Netherlands come with a 10-year guarantee on manufacturing defects. All other Capi Europe products come with a 3-year guarantee on manufacturing defects.

Made in Holland flowerpots

Dutch (Made in Holland) products can be recognised by the flowerpots’ orange interiors.

Pots produced in the Netherlands are not supplied with drainage holes, the advantage being that you can also use these flowerpots indoors. If you wish to place a pot outdoors in your garden or on your balcony or terrace, make sure to drill a drainage hole in the flowerpot, roughly the size of a two-euro coin, ideally. This will allow any excess water in the flowerpot, due to rain, for example, to drain away. If a drainage hole is made, the pot can also withstand freezing temperatures.

Dutch Design, Made in China

Most other Capi Europe flowerpots and planters are also frost-resistant. This only applies when the pot is supplied with a drainage hole. However, it is important that the pot is kept off the ground in frosty conditions. If the pot has no legs, then it should be placed on a plank or support in the case of frost. In addition, make sure that the hole in the bottom of the pot is unobstructed, so that no water can sit in the pot. Water expands when it freezes, and can cause the pot to crack or break.

Indoor mini pots are handmade and therefore not guaranteed to be 100% watertight. It is important to test this before placing them around the home.

Filling tips

Make sure that the soil cannot clog the drainage hole. This can be done by laying mesh on the bottom. So the water can run off and there is no risk that the planter breaks or ruptures in frost. Next, fill 1/3 of the planter with Hydro grains. This allows for better water management in the planter so that your plants grow better. Then fill the planter with potting soil. You can choose to sprinkle a layer of Hydro grains on the potting soil. This has a decorative effect and ensures that the top layer of the potting soil will dry out less rapidly.

One should not try to move the planter once it is filled. The weight of the hydro grains and the potting soil may cause rupture of the planter.

Please note: our pots are only unbreakable if the potted plants and their roots remain in proportion. Plants with fast-growing roots increase the pressure inside a flowerpot and are therefore unsuitable for planting in flowerpots. Such plants include trees, fast-growing plants, such as banana plants, and bamboo. In general, these plants should be planted in open soil. In case of doubt, you may always contact our service department or ask for advice at your garden centre.

Australian Consumer Law
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

4.1. Capi Europe warrants the solidity of the items delivered by Capi Europe and the materials used for this for a maximum period of 3 years.
4.2. If defects occur in the items supplied within the period stated in the first paragraph of this article, exclusively as a result of the unsoundness of the material supplied, Capi Europe, at its own choice, shall either replace the articles or components (as the case may be) at its own expense or undertake repair activities. All other costs, including emphatically yet not exclusively costs in connection with the removal of the non-functioning components and placing/mouting of the supplied materials and components and labour costs and man-hours are emphatically for the account of the customer. If Capi Europe has replaced an item supplied during the warranty period, the initial date of the warranty remains valid and does not lead to an extension of the warranty.
4.3. The warranty expressed in the previous paragraphs is only applicable if the items falling under the warranty have been used normally, if good maintenance has been carried out, no user errors are ascertained by Capi Europe and the manual and installation instructions from Capi Europe have been followed. If use is made of the items covered by the warranty, for which that item is not suitable or for which it is not intended, or if the item has been modified, in the widest sense of the word, by the customer or by third parties, no entitlement to this warranty can be claimed.
4.4. The warranty stated in the previous paragraphs only applies if and to the extent that Capi Europe has received a similar warranty from its supplier or from the manufacturers of the components and/or materials concerned. Capi Europe shall inform the customer if there is such a warranty, and if it is lacking, the customer cannot make any claim to the warranty stated in the previous paragraphs.
4.5. If the item under warranty is repaired or if any part of the item has been replaced or repaired (as the case may be) by anyone other than Capi Europe or by a repairer designated by Capi Europe, the customer cannot make any claim to the warranty described in the previous paragraphs. Nor can any claim be made under the warranty for repairs or replacement of items or parts that are worn or broken, if this is the result of normal use.
4.6. Should a defect reveal itself within the term stated in the first paragraph of this article and should the item not longer appear in the range of Capi Europe, Capi Europe is entitled to replace the item for the item that adopted the place in the range of the item that was originally supplied, without the customer being able to claim a refund or compensation.
4.7. Capi Europe is entitled to change unilaterally the conditions for the warranty stated here, but the customer must be notified of the changes in writing.
4.8. The warranty period stated in the first paragraph begins at the moment of delivery of the items. If the customer does not ensure payment of the amounts invoiced by Capi Europe within the term of payment, the warranty obligations lapse immediately after the payment term has elapsed and the customer can no longer appeal to them.
